Other information
Beyond the engineering, I lead and teach well.
I grew my university's robotics club from ~230 to 1,800 members (USYD's second-largest club), recruiting and building the team that kept it running after I left. I still teach engineering students of all disciplines at USYD (450+ so far) alongside my full-time work by choice.
I mention it because the thing I'm proudest of has never been the numbers; it's the people. I work best in small teams where I can build real relationships with the people I'm building for, and I bring that same care to founders and users, not just code.

Work experience
Proudest professional achievement
One month into leading engineering at a startup, I concluded that the app which built on no-code tools over the previous year, could never become a reliable product in the timeline we had.
Telling a non-technical founder I wanted to scrap a year of her work was daunting, so instead of just arguing it, I used AI dev tools to build a working, full-code prototype in a single day that already beat what the no-code stack had produced in a year.
She was spooked at first, then came around. That app is now live on the App Store and Play Store, and it simply wouldn't exist if I hadn't made that call. I'm proud of it because it wasn't just code: it was seeing that the current path led nowhere, having the conviction to say so, and bringing the alternative instead of the complaint.
Software Engineer & Product Lead
AI-powered productivity software company • Dec 2025 - Present
Designed an end-to-end AI pipeline that turns crude emails into structured records via OpenAI's Responses API.
Built a provider-agnostic LLM evaluation framework benchmarking OpenAI, Claude and Gemini on accuracy, latency and cost, turning model selection from opinion into an evidence-based decision, thus improving client AI adoption.
Benchmarked GPT-5-mini reasoning-effort levels, quantifying a 72% latency cut for a 3.4-point accuracy trade-off.
Built quality-regression checks a shipping gates, so no AI setup change reaches users until it's validated for reliability.

Enterprise software company • May 2026 - Present
Designed and shipped subscription enforcement across six coordinated backend services to fix a billing loophole where a bypassable client-side check let customers exceed their plan by up to ~$3,000/year of unbilled usage.
Eliminated silent data loss in customer backups (failed rate-limited calls still showing as successful) by adding enhanced rate limit handling, automatic retries, and detailed status reporting, thus reducing rate limit failures by 70%.
Resolved enterprise connectivity failures by provisioning dedicated static IPs that clients can allowlist for secure use.
Built an SSO support portal with instant support agent context, and a knowledge base for quick user query resolution.
Software Engineering Intern
Global professional services and consulting company • Jun 2024 - Dec 2024
Led design and delivery of a serverless API using AWS EventBridge, API Gateway and Lambda that automated organisation-wide OpenSearch access permissions in under 10 seconds, replacing a 1–2 day manual bottleneck.
Automated infrastructure provisioning with CloudFormation & Azure DevOps, reducing manual setup by 80%.
Saved my team 15+ hours monthly for higher-value work by automating repetitive manual tasks with AWS Lambda.
Built real-time monitoring dashboards to give leadership visibility into system health and help ensure 100% uptime.
Casual Academic
Australian research university • Feb 2024 - Present
Taught machine learning in lecture and tutorial settings to 450+ students across engineering disciplines, most with no coding background, earning 95% positive feedback on anonymous surveys I run voluntarily each semester.
