Placement Fees and Terms

1. When Fees Apply
A placement fee is payable to SkillsRobin when an employer hires a job seeker who was sourced through SkillsRobin, regardless of employment type or hours.

2. Fee Structure by Employment Type
The applicable fee is determined by the nature of the role at the time of placement:

  • Full-time rate applies where the job seeker is expected to work 35 or more hours per week on an ongoing basis, and the contract does not end within 30 days of the start date.
  • Part-time, casual, freelance, or short-term rate applies where the job seeker is expected to work fewer than 35 hours per week, or where the contract ends within 30 days of the start date.

3. Entry Level Candidates
A candidate is considered entry level if they have less than one year of professional work experience in their field. Entry level candidates are charged at a single flat rate, regardless of employment type or hours. The two-instalment structure outlined in Section 4 does not apply to entry level placements.

4. Payment Schedule
Fees are issued in two equal instalments:

  • First instalment — due upon the job seeker signing their employment contract or commencing work with the employer, whichever occurs first.
  • Second instalment — due once the job seeker has been continuously employed with the employer for six months.

If the job seeker leaves or is dismissed within six months of commencing employment, the second instalment is waived and no further payment will be due.

6. Refund Policy
SkillsRobin will issue a full refund of the first instalment if the job seeker leaves or is dismissed within 30 days of commencing employment, or before the end date of a fixed-term contract, whichever period is shorter. The second instalment is not subject to refund under any circumstances.

5. Role Transitions
If a job seeker transitions from a part-time, casual, freelance, or short-term role to a full-time role within 60 days of commencing work with the employer, the placement will be reclassified and charged at the full-time rate. An invoice for the difference between the originally invoiced amount and the full-time rate will be issued at the time of transition.

If, at the six-month employment mark, a job seeker transitions from one employment type to another (for example, from full-time to part-time, or from part-time to full-time), the employer will be liable to pay the placement fee applicable to the employment type the job seeker is engaged in at that point. This reclassified fee replaces the second instalment outlined in Section 4, and an invoice will be issued for the applicable amount at the time of transition.
