I do my best work taking a product from early version to something customers rely on, at a startup, working closely with the founders. Hire me for:

- Full-stack product engineering in TypeScript, React, Next.js and Node.js, with real depth on the frontend: design systems, complex data interfaces and performance.
- Building with LLMs carefully. I design AI features with clear rules for what gets automated and what goes to a person for review, and I test accuracy against a proper evaluation set before trusting the output.
- Shipping quickly and keeping it maintainable. I write down architecture decisions and patterns so the codebase stays consistent as it grows, and I care about tests and CI.
- Communication. As a Technical Lead, a teacher and a founder who ran customer support, I'm comfortable explaining technical trade-offs to anyone and turning feedback into product decisions.

I'm looking for full-stack contract work with early-stage startups, ideally building AI-powered products in TypeScript, React and Next.js. I work best close to the founders, where I can help shape what gets built as well as build it, and I really enjoy taking a product that's already been tested with users and making it solid enough for customers to rely on.

I'm most interested in products where AI does real work inside a workflow people trust, such as drafting, reading documents or making decisions, with a person reviewing the output. I'm open on industry and have enjoyed working across energy, property, education and compliance.

Contracts from a few months up to a year suit me well, remote or in Sydney, and I'm available to start straight away.

Proudest professional achievement
Co-founding an early-stage property technology startup is the thing I'm proudest of. My co-founder and I were the only two engineers, and we built a two-sided rental booking marketplace and launched it in under two months. I owned the data model, co-built the backend on Next.js API routes and MongoDB, and led the design system so every new screen stayed consistent while we shipped quickly. I also led product and ran customer support, so I was talking to the people using it every week and feeding what they told us straight back into the build. We improved the discovery and booking flow based on that, grew to hundreds of transactions, and the business was profitable within three months. That's the work I want more of: working closely with founders, owning decisions end to end, and getting a product in front of real customers quickly.
