Strengths
Discernment is quite intuitive to me and I've learned to listen to it a lot more - and above all else, this is what keeps me heading in the right direction and attitude with any project that I take on, as I can tell what is missing or at the least, what needs to be changed before it becomes a problem. In terms of professional skills, I'm experienced in UI/UX, branding and visuals for digital design which is what I've been doing in startups in product design, customer success and marketing over the past 2 years. I'm looking to use more of my skills from my degree (product design engineering) and experience in my next role - from product research to design for physical products (or digital/physical for a clean energy company).
Interested in working involving
A mission that aligns with the impact I want to make long-term in my career. I'm interested in any startup or company in the Climate Tech & Clean Energy, Engineering & Infrastructure, Construction & Project Management or Smart Cities & Urban Innovation space. However, given my time in startups - I'd love to continue working in UI/UX or product design if I could be the fit needed for the people, and their mission. :)
Not interested in work involving

I'm less interested in roles that are purely sales/marketing/content creation with limited opportunity to contribute to product direction. I'm looking for roles where I can continue developing technical, analytical and project-based skills while working on meaningful problems.

Other information
I'm studying part-time at university (2 units) this semester which means I can do 4 days a week (and hopefully 5 days a week if my scheduled lectures allows for it).

I managed them directly
This developer is one of the most driven people I've worked with. They take initiative on their own and push through challenges rather than waiting for direction. They have built a broad skillset by continually learning new tools and approaches, and they apply that knowledge to get work done faster and better. I'd recommend this developer for any role without hesitation.

Work experience

Proudest professional achievement

Building a kinetically-powered shirt, ideated during the EWB challenge, and shaping the direction of how I wanted to handle the startup idea as a movement was one of the more difficult but proud moments of my career. Attending the Engineers Without Borders (EWB) Design Summit showed me what problems were real priorities, so instead of taking on opportunities to commercialise my idea to the western market, I stuck to understanding the pain points and target audience I started the project with - the rural communities in Cambodia. Having become more involved with startups in the past two years, I'm proud to have been able to know when to not be attracted to the flash (still good causes but not what I knew where the idea was most needed) when it comes to my values and sticking true to impact I can stand behind. This is what has helped me enter new spaces like a tech community organisation and an AI technology company where I've continued to work for the right impact over all else.
