About the company

We help homeowners save money when buying home batteries by analysing their energy consumption patterns and sizing the system according to their needs, rather than the oversized system an installer might try to sell. We remotely access smart meter data via the government-led CDR (Consumer Data Right) framework. We're expanding into home energy management more broadly — helping homeowners orchestrate consumption and optimise batteries and solar to save and earn money post-purchase. We recently won a $500,000 grant in partnership with Monash University to bring their research on predicting future household consumption patterns to market through our platform.

We have recently won a grant for $210k to work alongside a university and integrate some of their research into our platform.

About the team

You'll work closely with the founder and other members of the team. Ideally, we're looking for someone who would be able to meet at least once per week in our Melbourne office.

About the job

This role goes beyond traditional UX — you'll own design and experience across the whole customer journey, from top-of-funnel marketing and sales through to the post-sale product experience. Think service design: shaping how people discover, understand and get value from the product, with conversions as the core KPI. Starting on a contracted project basis, moving to an ongoing casual/part-time arrangement.

We're hoping for someone who would be available on an ongoing contract basis. Approximately 30 hours per week.

Requirements

Mid-level UX/product design experience, with genuine interest or experience in sales funnels, marketing and conversion-focused design. Comfortable wearing multiple hats in a small, early-stage startup. Product + service design experience and enough technical comfort to prompt/work with AI tools are nice-to-haves.
