About the company

We're a consultancy helping Australian SMBs — trades, field services, aged care, and professional services — actually implement AI that works. We don't do hype; we do outcomes. Our work spans consulting engagements, productised AI tools, and hands-on delivery with real clients.
We're growing fast and need a designer who can help us look and feel like the serious outfit we are.

About the team

This role is part of a small, dynamic team focused on delivering effective AI solutions to clients.

About the job

This is a fractional UX role split across two distinct areas of work.

1. Brand & Marketing Design

We produce a high volume of client-facing assets — proposals, pitch decks, brochures, case studies, and our newsletter. Right now, these are functional. They need to be sharp.

You'll own the visual quality of everything we put in front of clients and prospects, working primarily in Canva and Claude as your production toolkit. You'll also refresh and maintain the website.

What this looks like day-to-day:

  • Building and maintaining a Canva brand kit and template library (proposals, decks, one-pagers)
  • Designing new assets as needed across the sales and marketing cycle
  • Evolving the visual identity as the brand matures
  • Keeping the website current and visually consistent

2. AI Product UX / Human-in-the-Loop Design

We build AI-native tools with real users at the centre — dashboards, reporting tools, workflow automation interfaces, and agentic products where humans stay meaningfully in control. The quality of the experience directly determines whether people trust and adopt what we build.

You'll be the design voice on these products, ensuring every human touchpoint is considered, clear, and confidence-building.

What this looks like day-to-day:

  • Designing flows and interfaces for AI products where human review, intervention, and override are core
  • Working through edge cases — what does a user see when AI is uncertain? When it needs input? When something goes wrong?
  • Prototyping in Claude (for AI-powered interactions) and Canva (for visual mockups and flows)
  • Collaborating with the engineering team to refine and ship

Engagement

  • Fractional / part-time — roughly 1–2 days per week to start
  • Remote-first, with occasional in-person for key sessions
  • Flexible structure — project-based or retainer depending on fit

Requirements

What We're Looking For

  • Solid UX fundamentals — you think in flows, not just screens
  • Strong visual sensibility — you can make things look credible and professional, not just clean
  • Comfort working inside AI tools — you don't need to code, but you need to get how AI products work
  • Experience with Canva at a production level (brand kits, templates, presentation design)
  • Ability to work lean and move fast — we're a small team, not a design department
  • Bonus: experience designing human-in-the-loop, agentic, or AI-assisted interfaces
