Strengths
My strongest skills are C++ and Python, particularly for systems, developer tooling, infrastructure, and performance-focused work. I'm good at working in large and complex codebases, understanding how different components interact, and improving systems that have become difficult to scale or maintain.
Interested in working involving
My background is primarily in C++ and Python, with experience in developer tooling, game engine infrastructure, backend systems, build and CI infrastructure, multithreading, performance, and production reliability. I'm particularly interested in technically challenging work involving C++ and systems-level engineering, especially around game engines, simulation, robotics, real-time software, or other areas where my existing experience could be useful.

Other information
I’m currently based in Melbourne on an Australian Working Holiday visa, with full work rights during my stay. The visa allows me to work for up to six months with any one employer, so I’m particularly interested in short-term contracts, project-based work, or part-time engineering opportunities. I’m open to different industries and primarily interested in interesting engineering problems, particularly involving C++, systems, developer tooling, infrastructure, performance, and game-engine or simulation-related work. I’m also open to remote work and potentially continuing a project after relocating elsewhere in Australia.

Work experience

Proudest professional achievement
One achievement I'm particularly proud of was redesigning a core Perforce branch integration service at an established AAA game development studio. Integrations were originally processed sequentially, which limited throughput as the number of active branches grew. I redesigned the service around a multithreaded architecture, allowing independent integrations to run in parallel, and introduced scheduling heuristics to prioritise and fast-track integrations that could be completed quickly. This significantly improved throughput and made the system more responsive under heavy workloads, while also giving us better control and visibility over concurrent execution.

Software engineer with around five years of professional experience across game development, backend systems, developer tooling, and infrastructure.

Most recently, I worked at a major game development studio as a Tools & Infrastructure Engineer, developing C++ and Python systems around a proprietary game engine. My work included internal C++ tooling, backend services, build and release infrastructure, CI, automation, multithreaded systems, and production reliability across PS5, Windows, and Linux.

Previously, I worked as a Backend Software Engineer at a European airline on aircraft cost-model simulation software, where I focused on performance and distributed systems. I reduced simulation runtime by 93.4% through profiling and algorithmic optimisation, and worked with Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, Kafka, and Kubernetes.

I have also worked as a freelance software engineer on B2B SaaS products and completed a compiler engineering internship focused on C++ and compiler/virtualisation work.

My strongest areas are C++, Python, developer tooling, systems and infrastructure, performance optimisation, multithreading, and backend engineering.
