One achievement I'm especially proud of is architecting an AI-powered interactive cooking platform from the ground up at an early-stage AI food-tech startup, going from zero to a fully working product using OpenAI APIs, React, and Next.js. As the lead engineer, I wasn't just writing code — I was advising the founders directly on what was technically feasible with LLMs, where the real trade-offs were, and how to translate their product vision into an actual engineering roadmap. That meant making judgement calls early on architecture decisions that would need to scale, which paid off when I later led a full backend migration from NestJS to Fastify to cut down runtime overhead as the product matured.
I'm proud of this one specifically because it sits right at the intersection of where I want to keep building my career: full-stack engineering with real AI integration at the core of the product, not just bolted on as a feature. It also pushed me to grow beyond pure implementation into technical leadership — I led hiring for the team and onboarded a Machine Learning Engineer, which meant thinking not just about what I could build, but about what capabilities the team needed to execute the vision long-term.
I'm a Senior Product Engineer with 7.5+ years of experience shipping 0-to-1 software — full-stack web apps, AI integrations, and even hardware-software systems. My core stack is React, Next.js, and TypeScript on the frontend, and Node.js, Express, and Fastify on the backend, with growing hands-on experience in AI/LLM work through OpenAI APIs.
I started out at a digital agency (2019–2021) as a developer and creative technologist, delivering 30+ digital builds across web, e-commerce, and hardware/IoT — including physical-to-digital systems for a global beverage company's smart bins and leading a ground-up platform rebuild for a food rescue organisation, which gets 20k+ monthly visitors. That's also where I first worked with TensorFlow, training computer vision models for automated product detection.
From there I moved into a digital development agency (2021–2022), building headless e-commerce platforms for major brands. I also tracked down and fixed a critical performance bottleneck deep in the official gatsby-source-sanity repo, and had the patch merged upstream.
In 2022 I co-founded a short-term rental marketplace, where I owned full-stack engineering end-to-end — architecture, database design, payments, infrastructure — and helped grow it to $50k+ in profit and 150+ paying users, while also co-leading our organic growth strategy.
I then joined a crypto analytics company (2024–2025) as Lead Frontend Engineer, leading a complete rebuild of a complex crypto analytics platform using Next.js and TanStack Query, building real-time WebSocket data feeds, and eventually hiring and managing another engineer while setting our architectural standards.
Most recently, at an AI-powered cooking platform (2025–2026), I architected an AI-powered interactive cooking platform from scratch using OpenAI APIs, advised the founders directly on AI feasibility and product strategy, led technical hiring, and executed a full backend migration from NestJS to Fastify. I followed that with a short contract at a two-sided marketplace platform, leading a UX/UI and frontend architecture overhaul.
Across these roles, a pattern I'm proud of: I'm often brought in specifically to take messy or complex systems and turn them into clean, professional products — and I keep naturally moving into technical leadership, hiring, and mentoring, even in contract-based roles.
