I usually do my best in environments that promote active communication. It also brings the best out of me when I'm involved in key discussions about the product. I like working in product-based companies, and for me, it helps if I can think of the product as my own, and that usually brings out the best ideas in me.
I like working with software systems and learning on the go. Throughout multiple stages in my career, I've had to build quickly and iterate. One of those instances was at Openhouse, when I was in charge (on the software side) of a complete pivot to the company's subscription and pricing model. This would mean making massive changes to the backend architecture. I was happy to achieve that in the window assigned to me, and with minimal to no bugs! (Also thanks to our QA)Another such instance came recently while working with SemiReal. SemiReal was supposed to present at South by Southwest Sydney and do a soft launch. 9 days before the event, we realised how the game engine required a big refactor, considering it was mostly written by AI by the engineers who came before. I was able to complete the refactor by myself before the event, and people were genuinely happy to see the result. and we got a lot of positive feedback at the event.
